Not only will BK: Nuts and Bolts only be $40 (confirmed by pre-orders) but if you pre-order the game at participating retailers (most likely places like Gamestop, Best Buy, etc) you will get a free voucher code to download the original Banjo Kazooie on XBLA . Since the code will be able to be used the day Nuts and Bolts comes out, this will give you access to download the original about 2 weeks before it is officialy released for download on XBLA. Sounds like a really great deal to me, I just hope I don’t find myself playing the original more than Nuts and Bolts simply because it is said that certain events that you complete in N&B opens up brand new never before seen content on the original Banjo Kazooie, nice!
You know a game will be good when you feel like you know the characters after only spending less than 7 minutes with them, as well as falling in love with the graphics and art style and don’t get me started on the awesome platforming elements. Check out the gameplay footage for yourself and see why you will want to own this game on either PS3 or Xbox 360 later this year.
Henry Hatsworth In The Puzzling Adventure keeps getting more and more love. This time by MTV Multiplayer where previewer Patrick Klepek gushes:
…it’s one of the most creative uses of the DS hardware that I’ve seen. … May Be My Most Anticipated DS Game Ever… I want more nooooooow. …
Yowzas! We also now understand how the puzzles on the bootm screen are related to the traditional platforming on top.
Essentially, when you defeat an enemy up top, it becomes part of the puzzle below. You must clear them off the grid before they reach the top again, or else they re-enter the platforming section.
Joystiq had the opportunity to test out Henry Hatsworth, an upcoming platformer/puzzler hybrid for the Nintendo DS.
Hatsworth has a lot going on. While we think the puzzle-platform combination could excel, much of the game will rely on its developers tuning difficulty and challenge. At times, the puzzle and the platforming felt easy, but that might have been because we started on an early level. And with so much to keep track of at once, we could see how the game could become frustrating and confusing.
EA and its Tiburon designers have tapped into a lot of potential we hope Hatsworth can achieve.
I don’t think anyone blames Luc Bernard for trying to create a unique, beautiful game. His story and characters carry a special heart and charm. Somewhere, though, if critics are to be believed (and those who played the version on STEAM), this game hit some speed bumps. Claims have been made to its complete unplayability due to glitches and technical issues.
IGN has posted the story to Mega Man 9, thanks to Capcom passing it their way.
Before going at Wily’s ambition, we’d suggest checking out our new Mega Man 9 screens and artwork. The art includes sprites for the major characters. The screens are all from the Japanese introduction.
The story begins after Mega Man has restored peace to the world. One day, robots throughout the world go berserk and turn violent. Of course, everyone thinks this to be the work of Mega Man rival Dr. Wily… until Wily jacks into television and frames Mega Man creator Dr. Light! Soon, the police arrive and take Light to jail.
It’s up to Mega Man to restore Light’s honor.
“Rise in order to stop Wily’s Ambition,” finishes the opening for the Japanese version. In Japan, the game is known fully as “Rockman 9: Revival of Ambition.”
Despite persistent rumors that it might, Scott Groyl - US PR manager for LittleBigPlanet - has officially declared the game will not be downloadable:
LittleBigPlanet is a Blu-ray Disc product exclusively for the PS3. LBP will utilize much of the Playstation Network’s vast functionality for online and community features, but the game will indeed be distributed as a Blu-ray Disc.
So unlike other games such as Warhark where simutaneous hard disk and digital download copies will be retailed, LittleBigPlanet only be bought in stores.
At long last, Snap Dragon Games has given us some updates on KORE, their action platformer coming to Wii. The once-in-line for Xbox title has been rebuilt for Wii and will feature the following:
6 graphically distinct worlds
Dozens of different enemies and challenging boss fights
IGN had a chance to speak with Blue Tongue Studios, creators of de Blob to discuss its length, difficulty and the IP’s future.
But what of gameplay length? Is there enough in place to keep the hardcore crowd satisfied? “I would say that you shouldn’t be worried. We have played the game more than anybody on the planet and we still enjoy playing it,” said Hagger. “There is still lots and lots of stuff to find. The music never becomes boring. And you can play any music track on any of the different levels. There’s just such an incredible amount of variety in the game that you really just keep being drawn back to it.” Okay, but we want a tangible gameplay hour estimate. What does Hagger offer? “If you’re extremely hardcore, you might be able to play the game through in eight or nine hours. But if you’re more a contemplative, laid-back, relaxed kind of person, I think you’ll find that you’ll be playing the game for quite a long time”.
As the October 7th release of LittleBigPlanet draws near, we are getting closer and closer to what could be (and you may quote me on this) the best platformer ever. Everything you see in the video above (and anything you ever see of the game) is user created content. That means you create the look and layout of the levels, even allowing you to import pictures with the Playstation Eye. Want a boss at the end of everyone of your levels? sure just create him and go crazy! A recreation of Stage 1-1 of the original Super Mario Bros.? go right ahead. The best part is sharing your levels or downloading others creations from around the world, and them playing them cooperatively on the internet.
